Micromax in an event on 22 August has launched the Canvas Infinity with a bezel-less display for Rs 9,999. The Canvas Infinity is company’s first smartphone with an 18:9 display, and the first budget smartphone in the market to offer one.

Micromax Canvas Infinity detailed Specifications
Micromax Canvas Infinity does not look similar to the company’s previous phones with thick bezels. The phone comes with the 18:9 aspect ratio, instead of the usual 16:9 aspect display.It has a metal body with the fingerprint scanner at the back, right below the camera setup.The front features capacitive buttons, and the 3.5mm audio jack sits on the top edge of the smartphone. It supports top and bottom antenna bands and has the speaker setup at the back as well.
Making screen as a key focus, The handset supports a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 308ppi. The taller aspect ratio will help users see more content and will be useful for split-screen multitasking. Micromax even calls it Full Vision, which is also what LG calls it.
Micromax Canvas Infinity is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The handset offers a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, superpixel, and auto HDR features. It also features a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, soft LED flash and real time bokeh effect. Using Gallery 4.0 makes use of image and facial recognition technologies to allow users to search for photos in the gallery by recognizing a person’s face.

The Micromax Canvas Infinity runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box with minimum bloatware apps pre-loaded on the device. The company also shared that the Canvas Infinity will be upgraded to Android 8.0. It is backed up with 2900mAh battery and it is claimed to offer a standby time of 260 hours and a talk time of 11 hours. Canvas Infinity is a 4G VoLTE-enabled, dual SIM device with a Non-hybrid slot that means the user can use 2 sim cards along with SD card has a rear fingerprint sensor.
Micromax has high hopes from the Canvas Infinity, and this is the first time a local smartphone manufacturer is coming with the phone with the unusual 18:9 display aspect ratio on a budget smartphone. The device will be available exclusively on Amazon India priced at Rs. 9,999 and can be purchased on 1 September. The Canvas Infinity will also be available offline later, though it’s not specified when exactly that is.
