WhatsApp received a lot of criticism by it’s users for enabling Snapchat-like Status feature that gets disappears in 24 hours, a month back. As a result, the billion-strong messaging service company has decided to switch back it’s old text-based status feature, which is being liked by it’s users.
Apparently, the WhatsApp beta update version 2.17.95 restores the old status feature as ‘About and phone number’ which appears on your profile. When you upgrade the app, it automatically shows your previous Status which you kept before the Status feature.
To view or change you’r status, just tap on the three dots in the top-right corner > go to Settings > just tap on your registered name. (which takes you to profile page from where you can see or change your status.)
The feature’s still being tested and currently, it is available only for beta testers. Also, there is no other information as to when will the official roll out of this feature begin.
